Cafe & Kitchen

Delicious food from local ingredients

Our kitchen below the Newington Green shop makes food for all the shops and also for a number of local businesses. We specialise in simple, healthy, wholesome savoury food – things like salads, sandwiches, soups, curries and bakes, plus some fantastic raw snacks and chocolate treats. Everything is made almost entirely using ingredients sourced from the same suppliers we use for the shops including Syd Aston’s extraordinary bread, Kent produce from Ripple Farm and Perry Court, tofu from Clean Bean on Brick Lane and all our dry ingredients come from Infinity workers coop in Brighton. Much of what we produce is vegan and many dishes are prepared without wheat or gluten-containing ingredients. Prices go from £1.50 for the raw treats and £2.50 to £4.50 for the salads, meals and sandwiches for takeaway at all the shops.

Eat in at our garden cafe

At Newington Green you can eat in, or out in our quiet garden, and also get a great coffee (Beans from Coffee Plant, our supplier for all the shops), herbal tea or juice, not to mention a superb cake from one of our local artisan suppliers (all of whom do a great line in vegan and gluten free goodies as well).

Raw Foods

This is the newest addition to our production and it’s expanding every month. So far it’s just raw treats and chocolate but this range will expand soon (and we stock all manner of raw savouries from other London suppliers). Much of our range is now sweetened with palm sugar which while not “raw” has a number of advantages over most alternatives.

Catering for your business

We can tailor menus to your requirements and for our catering customers we are able to offer a wider menu than we do pre-packed for takeaway. If you’re a small business in our area looking to source healthy, tasty food from a local business with strong green credentials then call Dominic on 020 7275 9099 or contact us via the usual means. Here’s what some of our lovely customers say:
